What does ‘Net Zero emissions’ need to mean to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement?

  • Side Event Room 4, B6, Room 83 (Blue Zone) Al Wasl Avenue Dubai, Dubai United Arab Emirates (map)

This event is organised with University of Oxford, Simon Fraser University, World Universities Network, WBCSD and Victoria University of Wellington.

This event aims to highlights research on the science of a durable net zero, with business, developing country and NGO perspectives. We will cover why we need to reach net zero CO2 emissions before 2050, but we will have a discussion on what does net zero actually means? One question we aim to cover is: can we ‘abate’ fossil fuels to deliver on Paris goals?
