In collaboration with Oxford Net Zero and CCSA, we are hosting a roundtable with the ecosystem to showcase and invite people to give input to a 2024 research project on markets and mandates, therein carbon takeback obligation.

This is a collaborative event with Oxford Net Zero, AEON Collective and Clean Air Task Force. We invite three stakeholders to talk about ‘what’ and ‘how’ they consider the “abatement” of fossil fuels. The Science, Civil Society, and Industry perspectives will be presented as three short TED-style talks; audience participation on “how-to” implement this.

This event is organised in collaboration with Ukraine and Oxford Net Zero. We will be discussing the nexus of climate change, energy security and stability.

To limit warming to 1.5°C, we need to reach net zero CO2 emissions before 2050. But what does net zero actually mean? Can we ‘abate’ fossil fuels to deliver on Paris goals? This event highlights research on the science of a durable net zero, with business, developing country and NGO perspectives.

Co-organised with the COP28 Presidency and WBCSD, we will talk about the need for full value-chain decarbonisation, geological net zero and importance of methodological transparency.

This event facilitates three quick 1-1 interviews. We will match a leading academic on net zero with a leading youth representative; each dialogue talking about a different angle of net zero emissions.
